Descriptions about the property
detailed description
This detached single-family home was built specifically for the family in the 1960s using solid construction. It grew with the family, with an additional storey added in the late 1970s, and the attic was later converted into a studio.
A welcoming home with large, bright rooms, many possibilities, a contemporary floor plan, and good structural integrity as a solid foundation with potential for expansion for your family's happiness.
The ground floor houses the living/dining room, the eat-in kitchen and a storage room. The upper floor features four bedrooms, a bath and balcony and above it, the converted studio in the attic.
Located directly on the Glan River in a quiet side street, you can enjoy your evenings on the terrace of your property with approximately 1,050 m² of land.
There are potential for expansion and extension.
The house is heated by a central solid fuel stove, and the heat is distributed via warm air ducts. The hot water is heated by an electric boiler.
Given the sunny location and the slope of the roof, the installation of a photovoltaic system would certainly be worthwhile. Two garden sheds round out the generous offering.
location description
Medard is a municipality in the Kusel district of Rhineland-Palatinate. It belongs to the Lauterecken-Wolfstein collective municipality.
The municipality lies on the Glan River in the West Palatinate. Lauterecken is to the southwest, and Odenbach is to the northeast. The municipality is surrounded by hills dotted with orchards. Hiking and canoeing on the Glan River are possible from Medard.
The municipality is home to a Celtic refuge, Medard Castle. Later, Romans also lived here. In the 1970s, the remains of the largest villa rustica in the West Palatinate were excavated near the church. The village was first documented in 1156 as "curia sancti Medardi." It is named after Saint Medard. Two hopper kilns for lime production were in operation between 1820 and 1900. From 1816 to 1866, Medard belonged to the Oberamt Meisenheim of the Landgraviate of Hesse-Homburg, and with it became part of Prussia in 1866. The Glan Valley Railway has run through the town since the 19th century.
